Belgium is one of the 29 member countries of the Schengen Area. Any citizen from a country outside this zone will need a Belgian visa to enter Belgium and travel within the Schengen Area.
There are a few exceptions, as some countries have agreements for visa exemptions for their nationals (Mexico, Canada, Japan, United States, etc.). Algerian nationals wishing to stay in Belgium must obtain a Schengen visa, which will allow them to travel within the European countries' borders for a limited time.
