What is the procedure for applying for a Spain visa in Morocco?

1- First, determine the type of visa you need

To learn about the different types of visas (short-stay visa/type C, long-stay visa, national visa/type D), you can consult this page or check the website of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco.

2- Download and print the visa application form

You can get it at the nearest Spanish consulate, on the website of the Spanish Embassy in Rabat, and/or on the BLS website by clicking on the "Download forms" tab (available in English, Spanish, and French).

3- Fill out the visa application form

To avoid any errors (it can be stressful dealing with paperwork!), follow our guide on how to properly fill out the form.
If the applicant is a minor, the application must be signed by one of their parents or their legal guardian.

4- Check the required documents to submit

Gather them together to include in the file you will submit on the day of your appointment at the nearest BLS center.

5- Make an appointment at the BLS center to submit your application file

After printing, filling out, and signing the visa application form and gathering all the necessary documents, you need to schedule an appointment with the BLS Visa Application Center to submit your application in person and pay the applicable fees.
You can make an appointment by phone, email, or online through the BLS website.

6- Submit your visa application

During this appointment, your biometric data (fingerprints and photo) will be collected*, your complete file will be handed to an agent, and you must pay the visa and service fees.
A payment receipt and a reference number corresponding to the submission of your file will then be given to you.
Keep them safe, as they prove the submission of your file and allow you to check the status of your application.

7- Track your Spain visa application

On the BLS website, enter the reference number from the receipt to check the progress of your application.
Please note that you will learn the status of your application, but you will not receive any information regarding the issuance or denial of the visa.

8- Collect your passport… and maybe your visa!

When the competent authorities have made a decision regarding your visa application, they will send your passport to the visa service where you submitted your file.
This service will inform you that you are invited to come and collect it.
Once you collect your passport, you will know whether your requested visa has been granted or not.

Note:

  1. Children under 12 years old and people whose fingerprints have already been collected in the last 59 months are exempt from biometric data collection
  2. During the appointment scheduling, some applicants can pay the service fees online with a credit or debit card issued by a Moroccan bank.
Ask the relevant BLS center for more details.
  3. You can request a home service (paid).
Agents will come to your home or chosen location to collect your application file and biometric data.
  4. The decision regarding the visa issuance is solely made by the Spanish consular authorities. It is never made by the BLS service provider, which only collects and transmits visa applications for Spain.
